Lynn began her artistic journey in 1991. She started her art education with continuing education courses, and carried on with seminars and workshops from local and internationally acclaimed artists. She finds inspiration in the simple things around her. Things that go from routine to stunning for a moment in time when the light hits a certain way. Her mission is to capture those moments on canvas. Lynn works in acrylics, using glazing techniques to achieve depth and luminosity in her pieces. Her most favorite subjects are landscape, still life and birds. She particularly loves water, glass and shiny objects as there is limitless potential to create depth through transparency. She also takes commission work for pet portraits, homesteads, etc.
Lynn started to exhibit her work in the 1990’s with local art groups. She held a booth in the Dalhousie University juried art / craft show for twelve years. Simultaneously, she sold her art and art products in a wholesale environment, filling orders to gift shops and museums throughout the Maritimes. More recently, she has been represented by commercial galleries. She has had solo shows at various galleries from 2010 – 2017 and has a new show in the works for 2019. She is currently represented by Visual Voice Fine Art, Truro, N.S.; Made in the Maritimes Artisan Boutique, Bedford & Halifax locations; Teichert Gallery, Art Gallery of Nova Scotia; Drift Fine Art & Slow Fashion, Lunenburg NS; and seasonally juried shows Argyle Fine Art, Halifax NS.
She believes in making a contribution along the way and has volunteered in all groups she has been associated with, both past & present.
