I’m Jocelyn Cormier, the potter behind Earth Wares Pottery, and I’m delighted to share my passion for pottery with you! I first discovered my love for clay during my high school years, and since then, I’ve spent time creating at various ceramic studios throughout Halifax Regional Municipality whenever possible. I recently purchased my first home and have been able to set up a studio space to pursue my passion for pottery more fully, and I couldn’t be happier about it!
My work is primarily focused on wheel-thrown, functional wares inspired by the natural world. From landscapes to plants and animals, I find inspiration from the world that surrounds us, and I try to showcase these natural elements in my pieces. Whether through earth-tone glazes or by highlighting raw clay bodies, my pottery is a celebration of the earth’s natural beauty.
