Alberta Born Artist Tylor McNeil was raised in New Brunswick to be closer to family in Nova Scotia. Tylor McNeil went on to study at Mount Allison University for Fine Arts. He then started his art career on Vancouver Island for 6 years showing in various venues and galleries. Now at 30, Tylor McNeil resides in St Peters of Richmond County on Cape Breton Island for a slower pace and to raise his 3 year old son. “Deer & Doves” is a series of paintings by Tylor. He started the series from a memory of his father’s love of hunting. His father’s elusive prized deer started out as an ambition and then morphed into a haunting obsession. The series attempts to use that as a start to explore the strength and adversity we gain by traveling through the dark and stormy journey that life takes us through only to be shaped into a new form.
